On Thursday March 21st, CHS hosted the Coaches Against Cancer basketball game to raise money for the families of Bob Davis and Reed Ireland. Both Bob and Reed are affected by cancer. The basketball game and accompanying raffle raised a large amount of money for Bob and Reed.
On Sunday night CHS junior Lauren Cook was announced as the Eastern Maine Sports girls basketball player of the year. Lauren is an extremely talented player who, as a junior, has already scored 1000+ points and has received many other awards. Congratulations to Lauren on this extremely high honor.
On March 14th CHS junior and star basketball player Lauren Cook was invited to the State House to be recognized for her milestone of scoring 1000 points in three years of high school basketball. This accomplishment of scoring 1000 points as a junior has led to her being selected on the all tournament team, DAC Allstar, PVC first team all star and PVC player of the year. Congratulations to Lauren on her accomplishments.
This morning at 9:30AM, the CHS Lady Devils took on the Madawaska Owls in the Class C Quarterfinals at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. The Lady Devils defeated the Owls with a sweeping score of 74-42. The Lady Devils put up a dozen threes in the tournament; Lauren Cook with six, Olivia Huckins with five, and Sophia McVicar with one. These dozen threes set a state record for tournaments in all classes. The Lady Devils will be advancing in the Class C tourneys later this week. On Tuesday February 19th, the CHS Varsity Boys took on the GSA Eagles in the Class C Quarterfinals. The boys put up a good fight, but ultimately ended up losing to the Eagles.
