On Saturday, May 12, the St. Croix Regional Technical Center will hold the annual Color Run. The Color Run benefits Calais, Woodland, and Shead students attending Washington County Community College. The run will take place at the WCCC/CMHS campuses. Registration begins at 9:30AM and the race starts at 10AM. For more information call the CMHS main office at (207) 454-2591. On Tuesday, May 1st, the Eastport Arts Center will be hosting the 4th annual High School Jazz Night. This event will feature the Calais High School Jazz Band and the Shead High School Jazz Combo. This event will benefit those programs. Students are admitted free and a $5 donation is suggested.

On Friday, April 13th, the Read-A-Thon Assembly was held in the CES gymnasium. This assembly celebrates the end of the annual Read-A-Thon, an event where students read in their spare time and get pledges from family members/friends for their reading. This years Read-A-Thon raised $4,100 for the school. Great job to all the students who participated. Keep on reading!
On Monday, April 9th, CMHS held the annual Hunger Games dinner in the cafeteria. Those who attended were served a meal based on what tier they were put on. The top tier had a very fancy meal, but as the tiers went down the meals declined in quality. This event raises money for the Calais Food Pantry, and is always a big hit with locals.

The Commons School Store at CMHS is going to be reviving the publicity screen outside the store in the front lobby. Content will be gathered by Kati Grass, the school business teacher and store supervisor and compiled into a slideshow. The slideshow will be put on a laptop which will then be connected to the screen. The laptop will play the slideshow on loop for all who pass to view. Before the screen can be brought back, Ms Grass needs content to add to the slideshow.
