Calais Middle School Students Back Full Time on March 29th

From the Desk of Calais Middle/High School Principal Mary Anne Spearin:

At the March 10th Calais School Committee meeting, a plan was proposed and agreed upon to bring the Calais Middle School students back full time. All students in Grades 7 and 8 will return to every day in-person school attendance beginning on Monday, March 29th.  This does exclude students whose family has chosen for them to remain virtual through the end of the year.

We heard loud and clear from parents/guardians who completed the survey that you want your students back in school, but  only if it is done safely. CMS administration, faculty, and staff are making the necessary changes to classrooms and school hour schedules in an attempt to make every effort possible to be sure we are following CDC and state guidelines.

Attached is a Google form that we kindly ask you to complete for your middle school student(s) only. We need to make transportation preparations for all students, and the form asks whether you will be using First Student services or making alternative transportation arrangements for your child. Form can be found here: https://forms.gle/jccQY2EWDfEE3Nzf8. The link may not be live on some android devices. Please copy and paste the link into your browser address bar.

CMHS administration, faculty, and staff are excited to see all of our students back in the building each day. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Principal Spearin, Assistant Principal Bowles, or the front office at 454-2591.
