From the Office of the Superintendent of Schools
October 28, 2020
Following a meeting with Calais School Department Administration this morning, the following decision was made:
ALL CALAIS SCHOOLS WILL MOVE TO DISTANCE LEARNING BEGINNING THURSDAY OCTOBER 29, 2020 AND CONTINUE UNTIL MONDAY NOVEMBER 30, 2020.
(We will revisit this decision weekly and if it is deemed in the best interest of students to return to school at an earlier date students and parents will be notified)
- All students will receive detailed instruction about accessing distance learning from their Principal or CTE Director.
- Special Education students will receive direction from the Special Education Department, because their programming may vary.
- This decision is made out of an abundance of caution, review of current Covid-19 data for Calais and surrounding areas, and consultation with Maine CDC.
