Valedictorian – Emily Doten
The Calais School Department will continue preparing meals through the end of June.
Thank you to all of our Seniors and their parents who responded to our survey. At our recent School Board meeting on May, 27th, the board approved the following Graduation Ceremony. CHS will be holding one Graduation Ceremony on Aug. 2, 2020 at 1pm in accordance with social distancing guidelines. Pratt’s has graciously offered the use of their dealership lot to hold the ceremony, and we have accepted this offer. This outside ceremony will include all 2020 CHS graduates. Each graduate will receive two parking passes for the ceremony, which will allow 2 vehicles to enter. Additional information will be sent to Seniors and senior parents/guardians.
Based on the response of senior survey’s, seniors funds will be disturbed as follows.
- Payment for Class of 2020 caps, gowns, tassels and stoles
- $1000 set aside for a First Year Reunion
- Remaining funds will be divided among all graduating 2020 Seniors
High School course sign ups are available online at www.calaisschools.org. Mrs. Pike, our Guidance Counselor, has begun entering next year’s schedules, so please be sure to sign up before slots are full.
The last official day of school for the Calais School Department will be Friday, June 5th. If your student has any missing work, please get missing assignments submitted. Teachers are being flexible with due dates and would like to have the work submitted to ensure passing grades.
Because the on-site school year ended abruptly, we will be scheduling times when students will be able to come into the school and clean out their lockers through Friday, June 5th. Please be sure to return class books and any devices at that time. Due to the State social distancing guidelines these times must be scheduled. Please contact Karyn or Sandie in the CM/HS front office at 454-2591.
