Calais Schools Closing


Calais Schools will remain closed until Wednesday, April 1st for students. Staff members may work a modified schedule to be determined later this week. Administration, teachers and support staff continue to work on a plan to provide educational services through online and pen and paper work for students. We will provide breakfast and lunch to students in Grades Pre-K through 12 either through pick up at the Calais Elementary School or in some cases delivery starting Wednesday, March 18, 2020. If you are unable to pick up meals, please call 454-2000. More information regarding lunches will be available on Tuesday afternoon.
Closings may be extended beyond April 1st.

Calais School Committee Emergency Meeting Outcome

The Calais School Committee held an Emergency Meeting today March 13, 2020 in the Calais Middle/High School Cafeteria to discuss plans for addressing COVID-19 within our schools.

After reviewing information provided by the CDC and Maine School Management Association, it was decided that schools in Calais will remain open until further review.   All after-school activities will be cancelled until further notice including the After-School Program at the Calais Elementary School.

The Administration asks that parents keep students home if they have a fever or are vomiting.

CHS Hosts Annual Post Secondary Fair

On Wednesday March 11, CHS hosted the annual post secondary fair. Colleges, businesses, and military recruiters set up tables in the school gymnasium and students throughout the school were invited to the gym to visit with tables that interested them. Other local schools were also invited to the fair. Thank you to all participants in the fair and the CHS staff for setting up the event.
